Jinelle’s approach to therapy comes from an anti-oppressive, and person-centered lens. She is experienced in supporting individuals through areas including but not limited to depression, anxiety, big T and little t trauma, PTSD, addictions, grief and loss, sexuality, gender identity, self-image, self-worth, and pregnancy/post-partum. Jinelle primarily uses techniques from Mindfulness Based Therapy, Sensory Motor based Psychotherapy (Level 1), Art based therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Feminist Therapy, Trauma Informed Stabilization Treatment, and the Cornerstone Process. Jinelle works with clients to determine a treatment approach that is best suited for their individual personality, experiences, and goals.
About Jinelle
Jinelle is a Registered Social Worker with a Master of Social Work and clinical designation. She has worked in the field of mental health since 2013, starting out in community mental health, program development, and youth addictions treatment.
Her practice now centers on sexual violence and trauma, complex trauma, ADHD, and perinatal mental health (pregnancy and beyond). Alongside her clinical training, she draws on somatic and body-based approaches, and has experience with integrative and psychedelic-assisted healing work, bringing a wider lens to how the nervous system processes and moves through trauma.
Jinelle became a parent in January 2020, just before the pandemic moved into lockdowns. That timing gave her a deep understanding of what early parenthood can look like when the world shifts under you. She went on to complete her perinatal mental health certification.
She'll work with you to figure out what approach fits: relational therapy, somatic work, outdoor sessions, or some combination. What matters most is that it feels like the right fit for you.
